The Western States Stock Car Series Debuts At USA!
Kevin Montgomery TUCSON, Ariz. (April 4th, 2011) – A brand new year and a brand new touring series is about to fire to life this Saturday night at USA Raceway. The new Factory Stock touring series will consist of 14 events over the course of the 2011 season with races taking place in Tucson and at Peoria’s Canyon Speedway.
“We are excited about this series coming to USA Raceway and Canyon Speedway,” commented Benji Lyons. “We have had great luck with this type of touring series in the past and this is a great addition to our schedule.”
All WSSCS events will pay $300 to the winner and $50 to start and a championship point fund will be in place for the winner of the inaugural 2011 Championship as well as any driver that competes in at least 75% of the scheduled events. The champion will be crowned at an annual awards banquet that is tentatively scheduled for the first weekend of December.
Jody Henderson, 2010 SCRA Champion, will lead the charge for the inaugural championship but will be in good company with several top Arizona drivers.
“I am looking forward to the series and having fun this year,” commented Henderson. “We had a great time traveling last year and I am really excited to be able to just race and focus on winning.”
Join the fun and racing excitement as the Western States Stock Car series joins the USRA Modifieds, Super Stocks and Hornets at the Southwest Center of Speed, USA Raceway, this Saturday night.
