Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (April 19th, 2011) – Lonnie Parker Jr. cruised to his first 2011 Total Seal Late Model victory just weeks ago as he topped the 25-Lap feature at USA Raceway.  Parker will fire up his machine and take the show to Canyon Speedway this Saturday night with high expectations of returning to victory lane.

The Contenders:

Previous Canyon Speedway winner, Anthony Madrid, will be ready and waiting for the challenge and an opportunity to gain ground on the championship battle worth a large amount of Total Seal cash.  Madrid will join forces with Paul Banghart charging from the south as both drivers contend for the title that Parker has a grasp on.

Ricky Thornton Jr. will pull double duty this Saturday night as he joins the Total Seal battle.  Thornton, winner of the IMCA Modified outing last Saturday at Canyon Speedway, got a late start in the hunt as he missed the first race but is making up ground quickly.  “Lil” Rick will attempt back to back wins in IMCA Modified action as well as pick up a win in Total Seal Late Model action.

Tim Ward and George Fronsman, who are tied for the points lead, will lead the IMCA Modified charge against Thornton and previous point leader Jason Noll who has two wins on the year.

Ward, 2010 IMCA Modified Champion, finished second to Thornton last week and has plans of being in victory lane this weekend.  The two drivers will face off on the track and likely be top contenders for the Canyon Speedway Easter Egg hunt that will be held for all the kids during intermission.

The Weeks Ahead:

April 29th and 30th will mark the return of Both the ASCS Non Wing Sprint Cars and The debut of the Western States Stock Car Series for the first Annual Canyon Clash presented by Ellis Racing.  The two day clash will celebrated when fans join race teams in the pit area for a BBQ and a chance to meet and mingle with favorite drivers.

The Important Information:

Joining the Total Seal Late Models on the April 23rd card will be a full field of IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Bombers. The action fires up when general admission tickets go on sale at 5pm for only $15 for adults, Senior and Military $13 and children 12 under are always free. Racing will begin promptly at 7:30pm.
