Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (May 14th, 2011) – The new nostalgia of Modified racing continues as soon to be racing legend, Ricky Thornton Jr., took his third IMCA Modified victory of the season by beating another Arizona racing legend and mentor, Anthony Madrid.

Thornton was able to use multiple grooves to work from the eighth starting spot past race leader DJ Wood as he went on to hold off steady pressure by Madrid.  Madrid, who was able to lead early on, gave up the point to Wood who would lead a majority of laps before being subjected to mechanical issues giving the lead to Thornton.

Madrid and Wood filled the podium with their best finishes of the year while Jason Noll and George Fronsman rounded out the top five.

Stacey Bennett captured her first Super Stock Feature while Joe Vlasity took his fourth win in Bomber action.

Rick Godsey and Brad Weiss were victorious in Dwarf Car and Southwest Modlite events.
