IMCA Modifieds Headline Canyon Speedway Anniversary

Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (June 14th, 2011) – Father’s Day, a holiday celebrated since the early 20th century was first celebrated as a compliment to Mother’s Day.  It was thought that since Mother’s were going to be honored, Father’s should also have their day in the spot light.  While we are in no position to disagree, we will go with the 100 year tradition and use the holiday as a reason to celebrate, as if we needed one!

After more than a month break from action, the IMCA Modifieds return to Canyon Speedway’s 3/8 mile clay oval to not only pay tribute to our Father’s but to also celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Arizona’s longest standing racing facility!

Jason Noll will pilot the Allscapes chariot as he leads the field into battle with the young Tim Ward in close proximity just eight points behind in a very tight point’s battle.  Noll and the defending champion Ward will both look to return to a victory lane that has been occupied by Ricky Thornton Jr. and Terry Belcher Jr. since the middle of April.

George Fronsman holds a five point lead over Belcher with Jay Foster rounding out the top five just two points out of fourth.
Joining the Modified stars for a full night of action will be the Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Southwest Modlites, and Bomber Mania.  General admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm for only $15, racing will begin promptly at 7:30pm.
