Parker Jr. Leads Super Late Models to Canyon Speedway

Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (June 21st, 2011) – Lonnie Parker Jr., in search of his first win at Canyon Speedway, leads the Total Seal Late Model Series championships standings and is the obvious choice for a new winner a top Peoria’s 3/8 mile clay oval this Saturday night.

Parker, who has recently managed to secure the Total Seal points lead over Anthony Madrid, has been shut out of victory lane at CSP in 2011.  Madrid, who has reined at CSP this year until new winner John Cornell cooled him off, has scored three wins and until recently was the man to beat.  Cornell accomplished that feat weighing in on is first victory of the year as he took the checker flag just ahead of Madrid at the last outing.

Fresh off a Modified victory, Ricky Thornton Jr., will return to Super Late Model action this weekend as he attempts to hold off a dozen or more drivers all looking for a victory in the high horsepower field.  A full cast of Super Late Model dare devils will make the charge for victory this Saturday night.

The Varsity Team of Modlites will join the fast action of ASCS2 Micro’s and Dwarf Cars this Saturday night for a full night of action at Canyon Speedway.  General admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm for only $15, racing will begin promptly at 7:30pm.

Budweiser beer specials will continue at Canyon Speedway with $2 red flag 16oz Bud and Budlight.  Each time the red flag waves during race action fans will be able to enjoy an ice cold beer for a cool price.
