Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (July 18, 2011) – With a stout cast of Southwest Wing warriors headed to Canyon Speedway this Saturday night, Josh Pelkey, will have is work cut out for him as he bolts on the wing to take on the likes of Rick Ziehl, John Carney, Calvin Landis, Kyle McCutcheon and Josh Williams.

Pelkey, aboard the Terry Hacker owned Dura Plumbing/Buckley Chassis, will make only his second wing appearance of the year but is no stranger to Sprint Cars as he was crowned the 1997 Arizona Sprint Car Champion.  A seasoned sprint car veteran will try to take advantage of his vast experience as he ventures into the high speed world of Wing Sprint Cars.

It will take a host of competitors to knock off the three-time reigning champion, Rick Ziehl, who has been on a terror winning four races in a row.  With several competitors knocking on the door “the Real Deal” Rick Ziehl will be the obvious favorite as he conquered Canyon Speedway in May.

The fast action of the ASCS Wing Sprint Cars will join the ASCS2 Winged Micro’s along with Pure Stocks and Bombers for a spectacular July event.  The fun begins when general admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm for only $15, racing will begin promptly at 7:30pm.  Kid’s 12 and under are FREE!
