The Desert Classic, which takes place the first weekend of November, enters it’s 23rd year and is a showcase for top IMCA Modified drivers across the country.  The best of the Best will tackle Canyon Speedway’s 3/8-mile clay oval over the course of the two day event on November 4th and 5th with the eventual winner collecting $3000 for their efforts.

Friday night will feature a full night of racing action with the winner picking up $750 and securing a top spot in Saturday’s finale.  The top six finishers from Friday will be locked into the Desert Classic Pole Dash for Saturday’s feature while the remaining competitors will return for a final chance to make the $3000 to win main event.

Arizona’s Terry Belcher Jr. became the 22nd winner of the Desert Classic as he etched his name into the history books by winning the 2010 edition of the classic.  Smith is anticipated to return and defend his title against the nation’s best IMCA Modified stand outs.
