Thornton Leads Total Seal Late Models Back To His Sweeping Grounds

Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (September 27th, 2011) – Ricky Thornton Jr. climbed into the Total Seal back up car for the first time just shy of one month ago as he went on a terror and swept the Labor Day two day Total Seal Late Model outing at Peoria’s Canyon Speedway.

Thornton will be back this Saturday night for one final go at a regular season event as we head into the “Big Show” season, but this time he will not only be strapped into the same Super Late Model that led him to Labor Day glory, he will also be aboard his own Modified as he takes a crack at the $1000 up for grabs in the Open Modified event.

Thornton will not likely be alone in his attempt at doubling up on some cash as Total Seal Late Model point leader, Anthony Madrid, will also take a shot at the big paydays.

Madrid leads Thornton by 73 points in the chase for the Total Seal Championship and is no stranger to CSP victory lane claiming four Late Model wins this year at the Peoria facility.

With the IMCA Modified Championship season settled and Guy Norton claiming his first title things will look a little different this Saturday night as top Modified drivers from around the state are expected to aim for the $1000 winners stake of this weekends Open Modified race.  The revenge draw will be in affect as the top four from each heat race will draw a pill and choose the fate of their fellow feature starters.

A full night of action is in store for race fans as the Total Seal Late Models join the Modifieds along with Super Stocks, Dwarf Cars and Bomber Mania.  The fun begins when general admission tickets go on sale this Saturday at 5pm for only $15, racing will begin promptly at 7:30pm.  Kid’s 12 and under are FREE!
