Late Model Champions Prepare For Stock Car Shootout!

Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (November 21st, 2011) – Total Seal Late Model Co-Champions, Anthony Madrid and Ricky Thornton Jr., are set to take on the best of the best in this weekends grand finale Stock Car Shootout at Canyon Speedway.  The two day event, November 26th and 27th, will mark the final race of the year and will feature a 50-lap shootout with $1000 up for grabs for the eventual winner.

Madrid and Thornton raced for the Total Seal Late Model Championship at this year’s edition of the Desert Classic and matched each other in the final standings leaving them to share the esteemed Late Model crown.  Both drivers will switch gears this weekend and join a very tough field of Pure Stock drivers all aiming for the Shootout Title.

The Canyon Speedway Stock Car Shootout, featuring the top Stock Car drivers from around the region all aiming for Stock Car supremacy along with the largest Stock Car purse in the state, is just around the corner. X-Mods, Super stocks, Mini Stocks, Bombers and the Pure Stocks will all take to the track for the biggest event of the year.

The best of the best will tackle Canyon Speedway’s 3/8-mile clay oval over the course of the two day event on November 26th and 27th with nearly $20,000 in “A Feature” money alone to be distributed throughout the weekend.

This year’s edition will not only pay unprecedented purses for Sunday’s feature event but will also, for the first time, pay a full purse for Saturday’s preliminary event.

Participants will take part in qualifying heat races and feature events on Saturday with the top 6 for each division being locked into Sunday’s championship shootout.  The remainder of the participants will battle for the final spots of Sundays feature in several last chance races to determine the 20-car fields.
