Jason Noll Action 7-13-13Kevin Montgomery, PEORIA, Ariz. (September 25th, 2013) – The 25th Annual Desert Classic is just around the corner and will play host to some of the nation’s top IMCA Modified stars as they lay claim to the $5,000 winner’s share of one of the largest paying IMCA Modified events on the west coast.

After kicking of the year with a successful Winter Series that averaged nearly 40 of the nation’s best IMCA Modified racers including winners Anthony Madrid, William Gould, Ryan Roath and Arizona’s Tim Ward, Canyon Speedway Park is expected to host an even larger cast of stars at the 25th running of the Desert Classic this November.

Friday night will feature a full night of racing action with the winner securing a top spot in Saturday’s finale.  The top six finishers from Friday will be locked in for Saturday’s feature while the remaining competitors will return for a final chance to make the $5000 to win main event.

The Desert Classic, which takes place the first weekend of November, enters its 25th year and is a showcase for top IMCA Modified drivers across the country.  The best of the Best will tackle Canyon Speedway’s 1/3-mile clay oval over the course of the two day event on November 1st and 2nd.

Arizona’s Ricky Thornton Jr. became the 24th winner of the Desert Classic as he etched his name into the history books by winning the 2012 edition of the classic.  Thornton, who is putting the wraps on an amazing year, is anticipated to return and defend his title against the nation’s best IMCA Modified stand outs.
