Arizona Figure 8 Championships this Saturday!

Figure 8 action 1Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (October 1, 2013) – With a  couple of big months coming up to close out the 2013 season at Canyon Speedway Park, the track shifts gears this weekend with the Arizona Figure 8 Championships this Saturday night.

Saturday’s Arizona Figure 8 Championships kick off a month of October at CSP that also includes the 13th Annual USAC Hose Advantage Hall of Fame Classic featuring the USAC National Sprint Cars Series on October 25-25 before wrapping up the season in November with the 25th Annual IMCA Desert Classic on November 1-2 and then the 46th Annual USAC Western World Championships on November 14-16.

After a one-year absence, the Figure 8 series returns to Canyon Speedway Park to mix it up for the Arizona Figure 8 Championships.  Saturday’s racing action gets under way at 7:00 p.m.

In addition to the wild action of Figure 8 racing, Saturday’s card will also include Autocross and Spectator Races at CSP for the first time.

Autocross features Renegade and Hornet type cars competing on a specially designed road course using portions of the Figure 8 track as well portions of the 3/8-mile clay oval.

Spectator Races are open to anyone wanting to test their skills against another competitor in street legal grudge races.  Each driver competes with a street legal and licensed vehicle against another driver with the winner staying on the track to take on the next challenger with the final winner pocketing half the total entry fees and all the bragging rights.

Tickets for Saturday’s Arizona Figure 8 Championships are just $15, with a $2 discount for Military, Seniors and Students.  Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free.  VIP passes are available for $20.
