Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (May 14, 2013) – Tickets are now available for October’s 13^th Annual Hose Advantage Hall of Fame Classic at the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ.

Set for Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, the Hall of Fame Classic will feature the non-wing Sprint Cars of the USAC National 410 Sprint Car Series.

Two-day tickets ordered by October 1 will be just $40, a savings off the single day ticket prices of $20 on Friday and $25 on Saturday.  Two-day passes after the October 1 advanced ticket deadline will be $45.  Platinum Reserved seating is available as well for just an additional $5 per night.

(May 11, 2013) – Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Matt Lundy headlined Saturday night’s Third Annual Mother’s Day Race for the Cure event atop the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park clay oval near Phoenix as more than 120 cars filled the pit area.

While Thornton, Jr., topped the IMCA Modifieds and Lundy bested the CSP LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Cars again, other winners included Anthony Madrid in Viper Smart Start Pure Stocks, John Romero in Renegades and Brian Stehr in Dwarf Cars.

Thornton, Jr., raced from the ninth starting position for his first CSP feature triumph of the year in IMCA Modified action, taking the checkered flag ahead of 11^th-starter Tyler Mecl with Jay Foster, Guy Norton and Mark Stewart rounding out the top five.

Lundy put a stop to Josh Shipley’s domination of the LoanMart CSP Challenge Cup Sprint Car ranks by taking the win from the pole with Jacob Hawkins in the runner-up slot.  Shipley settled for third from the tenth starting position after winning the three previous events, with Ty Mihocko and 16^th-starter Jesse Turner rounding out the top five.

Another win streak was snapped in the Viper Smart Start Pure Stocks as Bo Partain’s bid for a fifth consecutive triumph fell three spots shy with pole starter Anthony Madrid snaring the top spot in front of 13^th-starter Danny Price, Matt Martinez, Partain and Ty Weidner.

John Romero raced from the seventh starting position to capture his second consecutive Renegade feature win ahead of Trenton Setelin, with Joe Peterson, Paul O’Connor and Chuck McKay filling out the top five.

In the initial Dwarf Car event of the year at CSP, Brian Stehr raced from 10^th to take the checkered flag ahead of 12^th-starter Taylor Cuzick, Tim Cotherman, Eric Muse and Greg Jewett.

Next up at Canyon Speedway Park is the Second Annual Salute to Indy May 25-26 featuring the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars along with the LoanMart Challenge Cup CSP Sprint Cars, Micro Sprints and AMA Modlites.

Saturday’s card, which follows an open practice session on Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., is headlined by the IMCA Modifieds along with the LoanMart CSP Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, Viper Smart Start Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars and Renegades.

Jason Noll, Josh Shipley and Bo Partain each try to add another notch to the victory column when Saturday’s Third Annual Mother’s Day Race for the Cure goes green at 7:00 p.m.

In the IMCA Modified ranks, Jason Noll will be gunning for his third consecutive CSP triumph after topping the most recent pair of events on March 1 and April 6.  With his two wins, Noll has closed to within two points of January 30 Winter Challenge winner Anthony Madrid in track championship points.

With Madrid holing a slim advantage over Noll, the balance of the top five includes Ricky Thornton, Jr., Jay Foster and George Fronsman.

While Noll tries to make it three in a row, Josh Shipley shoots for his fourth consecutive LoanMart CSP Challenge Cup Sprint Car win after topping the initial three events of the season.

Perfect in the Challenge Cup Sprint Car ranks, Shipley is out to the early points lead ahead of Johnny Shelton, Jr., with Jacob Hawkins, Kiley Fellars and Dean Colquette rounding out the current top five.

Noll’s pair of triumphs and Shipley’s three-peat are no match for Bo Partain, who holds the longest win streak of all with four consecutive Viper Smart Start Pure Stock triumphs.

Partain went three-for-three in Winter Challenge action before capturing the season points opening event on April 6 for Pure Stocks in front of Ryan Eaden, Chris McCurdy, Jr., Steve Shumaker and Lee Morrell.  Challenger Engines has upped the winner’s share for Saturday’s Pure Stock feature to $600.

John Romero topped the season opening event for the Renegades on April 6 with Dwarf Cars set to appear at CSP for the first time of the year.

Tickets for Saturday’s Third Mother’s Day Race for the Cure at CSP are $15, with a $2 discount for Military, Seniors and Students.  Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free.  VIP passes are available for $20.

Josh Pelkey, Nick Aiuto, High and Johnson topped Racers Advantage heat race action for the 28-car USAC Southwest field with Andrew Reinbold winning the “B” Main.

Josh Shipley remained undefeated in LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Car action by racing to his third consecutive victory from five rows deep, crossing the stripe ahead of Tom Lee with Johnny Shelton, Jr., Matt Lundy and Jacob Hawkins rounding out the top five.

Starting from the pole position, Dustin Cormany added his fourth Micro Sprint win of the year at CSP in front of fellow front row starter Ryan Walter with Dennis Carrier, Adam Milsap and 19^th-starter Jacob Hawkins filling out the top five.

John Priest added his second AMA Mod Lite score in as many tries by racing from fifth for the win ahead of Brenden Priedt, Mike Martin, Ken Young and Nick Gann.

With the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars taking to the 1/3-mile CSP clay oval for the fourth round of the series championship chase, the Canyon Clash will also feature the LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, AMA Modlites and Micro Sprints.

Following an open practice session on Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday’s Third Annual Canyon Clash will go green at 7:00 p.m.

With the initial three events of the season in the books, Buckeye, Arizona’s Charles Davis, Jr., leads the USAC Southwest forces into Saturday’s action with a 32-point advantage over Tucson’s Ronnie Clark and Phoenix shoe R.J. Johnson, who are tied for second.  Josh Pelkey and Justin Quinn round out the current top five in points.

Canyon Speedway Park hosted the USAC Southwest season points opener on March 16 with Johnson taking the checkered flag just ahead of Davis, Jr., and Clark.  Davis, Jr., topped round two at Casa Grande on March 23 with Yuma’s Mike Martin victorious in the latest round of action at Queen Creek on April 13.

Multi-time Arizona Sprint Car champion Jeremy Sherman reigns as the two-time and reigning champion of the Canyon Clash after topping the initial pair of Clash feature events.

An open practice session on Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. will precede Saturday’s Spring Speed Event.

Saturday’s Spring Speed Event, which gets under way at 7:00 p.m., will feature a full card of racing action including IMCA Modifieds, LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, Viper Smart Start Pure Stocks, Micro Sprints and Renegades.

A Winter Challenge winner on January 30, Anthony Madrid leads the IMCA Modified ranks into Saturday’s action with a six-point edge over Jason Noll in the CSP championship points chase Guy Norton, Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Jay Foster filling out the current top five.  Noll topped the most recent IMCA Modified feature event on March 1.

Josh Shipley topped the season opening LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Car feature on March 16, while Pat Wing topped the Micro Sprint feature on March 16 after Shipley scored stopped Dustin Cormany from going three-for-three during Winter Challenge action.

Saturday’s card marks the first Viper Smart Start Pure Stock outing since Bo Partain topped all three Winter Challenge cards, with Renegades making their first CSP appearance.

Tickets for this Saturday’s Spring Speed Event at CSP are $15, with a $2 discount for Military, Seniors and Students.  Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free.  VIP passes are available for $20.

While the 2013 championship will still offer up $1,000 to the champion, Viper SmartStart has also increased the payout for not only the champ fund but also each purse, increasing the winners share to $400 with the balance of the top 10 all reaping benefits from their generosity.

McCurdy will have his hands full with a large cast of competitors all looking to earn the covenant Viper SmartStart title.  Several top drivers including 2011 champion Jeff Stafford, recent Winter Challenge dominator Bo Partain, Stock Car Shootout winner Matt Martinez, Rookie of the Year Joe Vlasity, Steve Bitting, 7-time winner Ty Weidner and a full field of capable winners all look to replace McCurdy as 2013 champion.

While Johnson topped the initial wingless USAC Southwest point event of the year, other winners on the night included Josh Shipley in LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Car action, Pat Wing in Micro Sprint competition and John Priest in AMA Mod Lites.

Johnson, who snared a win during Winter Challenge action in early February, picked off the initial USAC Southwest triumph in front of reigning Arizona champion Charles Davis, Jr., with Ronnie Clark, 15^th-starter Justin Quinn and 17^th-starter Nathan High rounding out the top five.

Josh Pelkey was sixth, with Thomas Ogle, Bob Ream, Jr., Mike Bonneau and Andrew Reinbold completing the top ten.

Shipley captured the first LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Car feature win of the year from the pole position in front of Lonnie Oliver and Johnny Shelton, Jr., Pat Wing raced from sixth for Micro Sprint honors ahead of Jacob Hawkins and Dennis Carrier with John Priest advancing from eighth to take the AMA Mod Lite checkered flag ahead of Nick Gann and Brenden Priedt.

Next up at Canyon Speedway Park is the Spring Speed Event on Saturday night, April 6, featuring IMCA Modifieds, Viper Smart Start Pure Stocks, LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, Micro Sprints and Renegades.

The series, which blossomed in 2012, continues to grow and will showcase many of the same talented up and coming Sprint Car drivers all aiming for the 2013 crown.  However, there will be a slight change for the series as LoanMart announces their intentions to become the title sponsor for the series.

The California based company will come aboard for the 2013 season allowing for an increase in the weekly purse money.  Each of the 20 A-Feature positions will be increased boosting the winners share to $400 to win with each starter receiving a minimum of $100.

Matt Lundy captured the inaugural crown and is ready for his title defense this Saturday night as the Challenge Cup Sprint Cars join the stars of the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series, Mini Sprints and AMA Modlites for the Canyon Speedway 2013 Championship Season Opener.

Saturday’s action will also mark the first outings of the season for the LoanMart Challenge Cup Sprint Cars and AMA ModLites, while the Micro Sprint Cars return to action after taking to the track for three rounds of the Winter Challenge that concluded in early February.
